Image projection and light matching in Maya

The goal was to project an image into Maya and then match the ground perspective, place in objects and then light them.

So no shadows on this so it looks a little silly, but shadows were not a requirement for this assignment.  The image was projected onto topology that I match modelled in Maya and then a simple camera move was used to create some parallax. The guitar was added and lighting was used to match it to the scene. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E3zS42YB2R8

Maya Dynamics - Soft Bodies and Particles - Semester 3 work http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t9jfv6BuHKg

So this assignment for my semester 3 dynamics class was to use particles (raindrops) and softbodies (footsteps). The walk cycle was from semester 2 and now seems rather jerky to me. Animation was not the point of this exercise anyways.

Dynamics Rigid Bodies project.  After not watching this for about a month I can see that the box is still a bit too slow even though I sped it up SO much.  Funny how after a while of watching something over and over again in Maya will make it seem ok.

I realized that I forgot to post my biggest project from semester 1.  So this is about 7 months old.  I agree with my teachers - the lighting is horrible.  Wish I could go back in time on that one. But I think the rest of it still stands up. I'd also do some sub surface scatter for the tomato shader.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ln2MWVv44oc

Elephant in a Little Car

This elephant will be in my short film along with my donkey.  I may do a few more tweaks here and there....

Lip Sync - http://youtu.be/rBe2PqUOdcE

Here is my first lip sync and my last animation project for my second semester at Centennial College.  I found this really challenging as the vocals I chose were not very animated itself, so I had to restrain the animation, but still animate it enough that it was still interesting to watch.  In the annotated words of my prof Matt Lyon, - What's the point in animating a character if you're not going to push it beyond what a regular human being can do. http://youtu.be/rBe2PqUOdcE
